A royal benarasi, synonymous with royalty and elegance, the embossed weaves and patterns on Tanchoi sarees make each piece a mesmerizing tale of richness and opulence. Tanchoi is a weaving technique that produces sift, lightweight yet silky and luxurious sarees. It makes use of more than one warp and multiple-coloured wefts to create a unique self-design that adorns the body of the saree. Tanchoi has an interesting history to its name made up of tan (tran in gujarati, meaning three) and chhoi (the weaver from china who taught this weaving technique), together making tanchoi. Later, Benarasi weavers learnt the art of weaving the brocades and Benaras became home to Tanchoi sarees.
